On April 17, 2021 NASA announced Ingenuity Mars Helicopter’s first flight attempt to happen on Monday (April 19) and weather report at Helipad by Perseverance included. Rover captured Ingenuity Mars Helicopter’s blades spinning on video in high resolution. Helicopter successfully updated its software and passed high-speed spin test. Historic moment of Ingenuity’s flying in Mars’s atmosphere will be captured on video on April 19. The four blades are arranged into two 4-foot-long () counter-rotating rotors that can spin at roughly 2,400 rpm. The video shows the blades performing a wiggle test before the actual spin-up to ensure they were working properly. The solar panel of NASA's Ingenuity Mars Helicopter's solar panel as seen by Mastcam-Z, a pair of zoomable cameras aboard NASA's Perseverance Mars rover. Roughly by 17 inches (425 mm by 165 mm), the panel charges six lithium-ion batteries inside the helicopter.
